Burning Banana Stylocoeniella Stock
The Burning Banana Stylocoeniella or "Burnin Banana Stylo" is one of those eye popping bright corals. You have to see these in person to really appreciate how bold there color is.
This is an SPS with very small polyps which in some conditions show more predominantly than in others. We believe they may appear more red overall in slightly lower lighting and when there is lots of food in the water column and slightly more yellow in higher light low nutrient systems.(largely due to polyp extension) While not the best, “first coral” for beginners they are very hardy for SPS.
While these are often sold as a “Stylo” we believe this to be a poor choice of common name as most corals sold under that name are from the genus Stylophora. This item, “Burning Banana Stylo”, are believed to be from the genus “Stylocoeniella” and are certainly not Stylophora. Stylophora is a branching SPS while Stylocoeniella, like the variety for sale here, are more of an encrusting species.
Like all the corals currently listed from TerraReef, this specimen is an aquacultured coral.
It is very important that you are aware of the care requirements of these corals before ordering. Please take some time to read some information from a few sources.
This item is a "stock item" meaning the coral you receive may not be the exact one in the picture, but a clone similar in appearance. Sometimes we include images of our mother colonies as well to give an idea of what the corals will grow into under proper care. Approximate size range may also vary between individual specimens.
