Refund Policy


We go to great lengths to ensure all of our corals are in excellent conditions.  Most of the corals sold on come out of the same system as Jon’s personal display tank.  This 940-gallon modified Triton system uses some of the best equipment available in the industry and is watched over very carefully.  Most corals listed on our site have had 4-6 weeks to recover from fragging and have started to grow significantly.  With this said, shipping can be rough on corals, so we offer the following guarantee. 

Note, we recommend that you always give the coral a shot even if something has happened and the coral seems in rough shape.  Corals can bounce back sometimes from really rough conditions as long as they were provided with ideal conditions before (which they always are at TerraReef) and after the stress of shipping as they recover in your tank.

Please make sure you are in an area we currently ship to and look over the current shipping costs before placing your order.  (There is important information on these pages as well pertaining to the guarantee)

If for some reason an order needs to be canceled, please contact us immediately.  Any order cancellations will be credited for 1 year or refunded with a 20% restocking fee.  Once we have started to pack the order then cancellation is not possible.  

You MUST be present at the delivery address to accept delivery in person or use a holding center where it can be kept in a climate-controlled environment.  You must bring the box indoors within 1 hour of the delivery time stamp from the shipper (the faster the better to avoid temperature swings).  Signatures may be required for some orders.  If the box is wet or damaged in any way, please accept the shipment anyways and contact us immediately.  Do not refuse or return the shipment/delivery.  The coral must not be removed from what it was growing on (plug/disc/tile). 

Any coral or livestock purchased from are guaranteed to survive for 7 days after delivery.  You must contact us with a photo of the deceased specimen within 7 days after delivery.  Just in case we need clearer images hold onto the specimen until you have spoken with us.  

Refunds will be in the form of a credit towards a future TerraReef order and good for 1 year.  We do not offer cash refunds.  We do not cover any shipping costs for replacement orders unless more than half of your order is dead on arrival.  Guarantee applies to online orders only. 

All purchases are final.  No refunds or returns on Live purchases. TerraReef cannot be held responsible for mechanical or weather delays that may cause your shipment to arrive late.  

We work hard to prevent unwanted organisms from entering our systems.  That said we recommend everyone quarantine all new arrivals from us or anyone else.  Always carefully acclimate all saltwater organisms to your tank.
