This frag is mounted to a 1.25" wide frag plug. There are few other Micromussa corals with has bold, vibrant, and starkly contrasting corals as the Holy Grail Micromussa. These very small corals are a very popular collectors item. The species name is believed to be Micromussa amakusensis which some in the hobby refer to as, “The original Micromussa” as they have remained a part of this genus and traded under that name as far back as anyone can remember. Other companies sell small freshly cut fragments of these from 2018-2023 have been sold regularly for $400.00. Our frags heal for a minimum of two weeks, usually more. They are sometimes called F2M HG Micromussa or Holy Grail Micro. F2M to our understanding is short for Fish2Morrow who may have been the importer or the first to significantly grow the coral, but it appears they may no longer be in business. These Micromussa amakusensis appear to us to be just about as hardy as Micromussa lordhowensis (formerly referred to as Acanthastrea lordhowensis and sometimes referred to as “Acans” or “Acan lords”). The major difference is the smaller polyps. We purchased one small frag of these from a vender who claims to quarantine their livestock and sells 100% aquacultured corals. Once we received our frag, we quarantined these corals for 246days, we removed the frag plugs, dipped them, and they have been in propagation since then (8/11/2022).

Like all the corals currently listed from TerraReef, this specimen is an aquacultured coral.

It is very important that you are aware of the care requirements of these corals before ordering. Please take some time to read some information from a few sources.

This item is a WYSIWYG item meaning the specimen you receive will be the exact one in the picture. Sometimes we include images of our mother colonies as well to give an idea of what the corals will grow into under proper care. Size is an approximation.
