Pagoda cup coral (Turbinaria sp.) Frag Stock
Are you looking for a colorful super hardy LPS coral? You have come to the right place. We have kept this type of Green Pagoda cup coral for over 13 years. While their growth slows when there are rough times in the tank, they seem to live through a lot.
Pagoda cup coral can take on a cup like appearance once they are large enough and in only in certain conditions. The green polyps really look like miniature duncan corals that have more of a plating colony structure.
From CORALS of the World, "Taxonomic Note: Arrigoni, Kitano, Stolarski et al. (2014) proposed that this species should be moved to Duncanopsammia, based on apparently close genetic similarity with Duncanopsammia axifuga. However, the clear differentiation in septal pattern between these two species precludes this."
Like all the corals currently listed from TerraReef, this specimen is an aquacultured coral.
It is very important that you are aware of the care requirements of these corals before ordering. Please take some time to read some information from a few sources.
This item is a "stock item" meaning the coral you receive may not be the exact one in the picture, but a clone similar in appearance. Sometimes we include images of our mother colonies as well to give an idea of what the corals will grow into under proper care. Approximate size range may also vary between individual specimens.
